Despite missing a few key players the Dawley Wanderers U12 Girls returned to victory in style this weekend with a fantastic 5-2 win against Shropshire Lions! 🥳🙌
From back to front, the team delivered a solid performance in what was a really physical battle at times, with Shropshire Lions putting up a strong fight with plenty of energy. The defensive line was rock-solid, shutting down their build-up play, while our midfield made brilliant passes and controlled the tempo of the game throughout. That strong foundation allowed the squad to play some gorgeous, defense-splitting passes to secure the goals.
A phenomenal team effort overall!

This week our Under 10s were at home to Lawley Comets in a really evenly contested game.
Both teams had spells where they were on top, with some excellent football being played throughout. There was also some top-drawer defending from both sides, making for a competitive and entertaining game from start to finish. 👏

Tough result this morning for the U12 girls against Shifnal Panthers, with the 5-1 score line not quite reflecting how close the game felt. Credit to Shifnal, they took their chances when it mattered.
While a few decisions didn’t go our way today, football is all about focusing on what we can control. The match gave us plenty of valuable takeaways, from staying sharp and maintaining a positive mindset to taking our own chances in front of goal.
A lot of learning for everyone today, but the season is long and this team is resilient so we’ll come back even stronger next week! ⚽💪
